This simple salsa is excellent with corn tortilla chips, on fajitas or even as a zesty addition to a bowl of your favorite soup. While the heat index is surprisingly low compared to what you might think, it is not for the faint of heart.

Ingredients For salsa verde

  • 3 lb
    fresh jalapenos, stems removed
  • 3 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 3/4 Tbsp
    cumino
  • 1/2 bunch
    cilantro
  • 2
    limes, juiced
  • salt and freshly ground pepper

How To Make salsa verde

  • 1
    Boil jalapenos in large pot until soft, approximately 15 minutes
  • 2
    Transfer soft jalapenos to food processor with approximately 1 cup of water from pot and process until mixture is very smooth
  • 3
    Add garlic powder, cumin, cilantro and lime juice and pulse a few times to combine
  • 4
    Add salt and pepper to taste
