This simple salsa is excellent with corn tortilla chips, on fajitas or even as a zesty addition to a bowl of your favorite soup. While the heat index is surprisingly low compared to what you might think, it is not for the faint of heart.

Ingredients For salsa verde

3 lbfresh jalapenos, stems removed

3 Tbspgarlic powder

3/4 Tbspcumino

1/2 bunchcilantro

2limes, juiced

salt and freshly ground pepper
How To Make salsa verde

1Boil jalapenos in large pot until soft, approximately 15 minutes

2Transfer soft jalapenos to food processor with approximately 1 cup of water from pot and process until mixture is very smooth

3Add garlic powder, cumin, cilantro and lime juice and pulse a few times to combine

4Add salt and pepper to taste
