When I was young it was a yearly sight to watch my grandmother grow veggies in her garden and then make this wonderfully fragrant relish. I never appreciated it's goodness until I got older. It is delicious served beside a big pot of pinto beans, fried potatoes and cornbread. I wish I still had my precious granny. She surely is making chow chow for the angels..LOL

Ingredients For my grannys chow chow

2heads of cabbage

15medium sized green tomatoes

8 lgred onions

3 Tbspsalt

12hot peppers

1 qtapple cider vinegar

1 Tbspcinnamon

1 Tbspallspice, ground

4 tspcloves ground

1 3/4 csugar
How To Make my grannys chow chow

1Chop tomatoes, cabbbage,onion and peppers together. Cover with the salt and let stand overnight: drain well Add vinegar, sugar and all other ingredients. Simmer on low heat until tender. Pour into clean, hot canning jars and seal.
