One thing I did learn from my grandma was canning. I cherished every moment canning those fresh veggies out of the garden.

Ingredients For canned salsa

  • 2 qt
    tomatoes -- chopped
  • 1 md
    green pepper -- chopped
  • 1 lg
    red onion -- chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic -- diced
  • 1/3 c
    cilantro -- chopped
  • 2 lg
    jalapenos -- diced
  • 1/2 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp
    pickling salt
  • 1 tsp
    cumin powder

How To Make canned salsa

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients together in heavy pot and simmer until thick, stirring frequently.

    May need to add Tomato Paste for thickness.

    Process in pint jars in steam or hot water bath canner for 10 minutes.
  • 4
    One batch makes about 3 Pints.
  • 5
    I would suggest making 6 to 10 batches in one pot for canning.
