walnut pesto - kosher

I found this on Joy of Kosher blog with Jamie Geller. I didn't want to lose the recipe because I have a ton of basil this year! Plus I have a bunch of walnuts in the freezer!! PS It's much easier if you have a food processor rather than an immersion blender, but it still works!

Ingredients For walnut pesto - kosher

  • 2 c
    basil
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts, toasted
  • 2 clove
    garlic
  • 1/2
    lemon, juice of
  • 1/2 c
    parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 c
    olive oil

How To Make walnut pesto - kosher

  • 1
    Add basil, walnuts, and garlic to bowl and pulse with immersion blender.
  • 2
    Add lemon juice and Parmesan (if using).
  • 3
    Stream in olive oil with one hand while blending with the other hand until the pesto is loose enough!
