This is a Vanilla sauce of my Mothers. Goes well with the bread pudding recipe.

Ingredients For vanilla sauce

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbs. cornstarch
  • 2 tbs, butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

How To Make vanilla sauce

  • 1
    Bring water to boil in small sauce pan.
  • 2
    Combine sugar and cornstarch, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.

    Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla, salt. Stir until butter melts.
