Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my great-uncle John.

Stove Top
Ingredients For unce john's hot sauce

1 1/2 galchopped tomatoes

4 cchopped bell peppers

1 cvinegar

1/2 coil

2 Tbspgarlic (or 3 to 4 cloves of garlic)

6 cchopped onion

2 cchopped hot peppers

2 Tbspchili powder

2 Tbspsalt
How To Make unce john's hot sauce

1Put all ingredients in a large pan. Boil for 1 hour, stirring often.

2Pour into hot, sterile jars and seal using a hot water bath canning process.
