My tomatoes bushes have blooms and tiny tomatoes on them and this is one of the things you can enjoy next winter when all of the thoughts of tomato sandwiches have been put away. There is no comparison to homemade tomato sauce and canned tomato sauce and wintertime is such a perfect time to have this on hand; chili, spaghetti, and lots of other comfort foods will be so delicious with this recipe. It goes in the freezer so you don't have to worry about jars and lids. Hope you enjoy this recipe

Ingredients For tomato sauce

  • 10 lb
    ripe tomatoes
  • 4 lg
    onions, finely chopped
  • 2 md
    green peppers, finely chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 4 tsp
    accent
  • 1 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 2 tsp
    paprika
  • 2 Tbsp
    celery salt

How To Make tomato sauce

  • 1
    Scald tomatoes, peel, cut into small pieces and put into a large pot. In a frying pan, heat the oil and saute the onions peppers and the garlic. Add to the tomatoes along with the rest of the ingredients. Cook uncovered until the mixture has reduced about three fourths the original amount. (about one hour) Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.Remove from heat and cool..Put into kitchen aide and blend until smooth. Package in freezer bags and place in freezer. Shown above is spaghetti sauce and meatballs made with homemade tomato sauce....
