If, by chance, this gets lumpy while you are cooking it...take it off the heat and beat with a whisk while adding a little water. Return to heat and finish cooking.

Ingredients For tomato gravy

  • 3 Tbsp
    oil (or bacon drippings)
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 can
    crushed tomatoes or fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 can
    water

How To Make tomato gravy

  • 1
    Heat oil on high, add flour and whisk until golden brown, add water and cook on high; 5 minutes, whisking all the time. Add tomatoes. Turn heat to medium and cook till they thicken. Add salt and pepper.
