thunder's famous steak sauce

My Daddy, whose nickname was Thunder from his days as a defensive end at LSU, was a wonderful cook. This is the mushroom sauce he served every time he grilled steaks, which was quite often.

Ingredients For thunder's famous steak sauce

  • 1/2 stick
    butter
  • 3
    green onions, chopped fine
  • 1 clove
    chopped garlic
  • 1/2
    lemon, juice only
  • 1 Tbsp
    worchestershire sauce
  • Dash
    tabasco sauce
  • 1 c
    sliced mushrooms
  • 1 fl
    jigger dry sherry
  • salt & pepper to taste

How To Make thunder's famous steak sauce

  • 1
    Melt the butter in a skillet and add the onions and garlic. Saute a few minutes and add remaining ingredients until the veggies have softened. Spoon over grilled steak. Delicious!
