sauce essentials: lemon buttermilk dipping sauce

This is one of my favorite recipes for serving with breaded chicken tenders, or breaded fish. It has a tang that hits your taste buds like a hammer… It is’s very easy to assemble, and if you can let it sit in the fridge overnight, you won’t be disappointed. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients For sauce essentials: lemon buttermilk dipping sauce

  • 1/2 c
    fresh buttermilk
  • 1/2 c
    fresh mayonnaise
  • 1 lg
    lemon, both the zest and the juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    white pepper, freshly ground
  • salt, kosher variety, to taste

How To Make sauce essentials: lemon buttermilk dipping sauce

    Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
  • 3
    Add all the ingredients to a large mixing bowl.
  • 4
    Use a whisk to thoroughly combine the ingredients.

    Chef’s Note: At this time, add a bit of salt, to taste.

    Place into a tightly-sealed, non-reactive container, and stick into the fridge overnight. Assuming you can wait that long.

    Chef’s Note: After an evening in the fridge, it will thicken up a bit, and make for a perfect sauce for dipping.
