Ingredients For meatless spaghetti sauce

1 1/2 Tbspolive oil

1 cfinely chopped white onions

1 cfinely chopped red peppers

1 tspground Himalayan pink salt, or to taste, divided

3 lgcloves garlic, pressed

4 ctomato sauce such as marinara

1 Tbsptomato paste
-
1 Tbspbrown sugar, such as Demerara

1/4 cdry red wine
-
1/2 tspred pepper flakes, or to taste

1 TbspItalian seasoning
-
freshly ground black pepper, to taste (I always use mixed peppercorns)

2 Tbspfreshly chopped parsley
How To Make meatless spaghetti sauce

1In a large pot over medium, heat oil before adding white onions and red peppers; season with salt. Sauté the vegetables for 3 to 4 minutes.

2Add pressed garlic and sauté it for only 1 minute.

3Add the remaining ingredients, stir well and bring the mixture to a simmer.

4Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. To prevent the tomato sauce from splashing everywhere, place the lid slightly ajar.
