working in the hotel-casino industry for over 25 years, i never really had the chance to go in the kitchen to experiment,or recreate my Mom's recipies.This sauce (my hubby calls it gravy)is the result of trying to "outdo" his Mom'sGravy.My hubby says its very close!!

Ingredients For lilly's italian spagetti sauce

  • 2-28 oz
    cans chopped tomatoes
  • 2-6 oz
    cans tomato paste
  • 2-8 oz
    cans tomato sauce
  • 4 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 2 tsp
    dried parsley
  • 1 tsp
    dried basil
  • 2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 6 clove
    minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/3 c
    red wine

How To Make lilly's italian spagetti sauce

    Combine all ingredients in large pot,cover and cook over medium heat till bubbling.Uncover,reduce heat to low,,and simmer for 1 hour,stirring often.
