Ingredients For john’s teriyaki sauce

  • 1 c
    water
  • 5 Tbsp
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 1 lg
    garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/4 c
    cold water

How To Make john’s teriyaki sauce

    In a medium saucepan combine the 1 cup water, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, garlic & ginger and set over medium heat.

    In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the 1/4 cup of cold water & whisk until dissolved.

    Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan in spoonfuls until it thickens to your desired thickness. Do not evaluate thickness until the sauce comes to a simmering boil. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a little bit of water to thin it out.
