This is not the kind of recipe you make on the spur of the moment. For example, say you need some buttermilk, but you do not have any; however, you do have milk and some lemon juice. You mix them together and 5-minutes later, BANG, buttermilk. In this recipe, you add the ingredients and not 5-minutes, but two long days later you have sour cream… really, really, good sour cream. You make this recipe because you plan ahead. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

    organic cream
  • 1 tsp
    organic lemon juice, or white vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    organic whole milk

    What will you need? All you require will be a non-reactive bowl, and a cloth to cover it with.

    How to store it? Place covered in the fridge; it will last about a week. Because of all the dairy, this recipe cannot be frozen.

    Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

    Add the cream and lemon juice to a bowl, whisk to combine, then wait 10 minutes and add the milk.

    Cover with a cloth and let sit in a corner of your kitchen for from 24 – 48 hours.
