5 Tbspcrushed sichuan chili flakes

1 Tbspchinese 5 spice powder

3 Tbsptoasted sesame seeds

1 tspground sichuan powder

2whole star anise

2bay leaves

How To Make homemade chili oil

1Place the chili flakes, five spice powder, sesame seeds, star anise, ground Sichuan peppercorns and bay leaves in a metal container. Set aside.

2Place oil over heat and heat until it reaches 370 degrees. Carefully pour over the spices. They will bubble a bit. Stir with metal spoon. Let cool then remove the star anise and bay leaves. Can be stored up to 6 months in fridge.
