You may never go back to maple syrup again after trying this homemade buttermilk syrup. It's so buttery and sweet, you don't need to use extra butter on your pancakes or French toast (but we all know an extra pat of butter never hurts). This is delicious!

Ingredients For homemade buttermilk syrup

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make homemade buttermilk syrup

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients (except baking soda and vanilla) in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Let boil for 2 minutes.

    Bring heat down and simmer for 1 minute to thicken.

    Remove from heat. Add baking soda and vanilla.
