fresh basil pesto

I grow alot of basil in my garden and I had too much, so I decided to make some pesto. I didn't want it to go to waste! I like to put it over Angel Hair pasta because it is a nice, light sauce.I always thought you should never put a heavy sauce over small pasta. My family loves it!

Ingredients For fresh basil pesto

  • 2 c
    tightly packed basil
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 3 Tbsp
    pinenuts
  • 2
    garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1/3 c
    parmesan reggiano cheese- grated
  • 1/3 c
    pecorino cheese - grated
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter at room temperature

How To Make fresh basil pesto

    Just mix it all together in a blender or food processor and Viola! You have the best tasting Pesto sauce for your Pasta!
