coca cola barbecue sauce

I came up with this barbecue sauce by tweaking several different recipes. This is good on chicken and especially ribs.I am making this tonight to put on chicken and will post pics later.

Ingredients For coca cola barbecue sauce

  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 md
    onion, finely chopped
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 c
    ketchup
  • 1 can
    coca cola
  • 1/2 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    ground black pepper, i use coarse ground. i like to see it
  • 2 Tbsp
    dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce

How To Make coca cola barbecue sauce

    In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add oil. Once heated, add the onion and garlic and saute until tender. Add all the remaining sauce ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook uncovered, stirring frequently, for 1 hour 15 minutes.
