"This is a basic mild pasta sauce my mother made for years and is still a family favorite. You can add browned ground beef, mushrooms, grated carrots, zucchini or other veggies. Ingredients For basic sauce for pasta

  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 can
    tomato sauce, 8 oz.
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp
    processed cheese sauce
  • 1 c
    water

How To Make basic sauce for pasta

    In a large skillet over medium heat, saute' onion and garlic in the olive oil for about 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce, oregano, salt, pepper, cheese sauce and water. Lower heat and simmer until it thickens; about 30 minutes.
