Ingredients For barbecue sauce

  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped onion
  • 2 clove
    garlic,minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil or canola oil.
  • 3/4 c
    apple juice
  • 1/2
    of a 6oz.can of tomato paste (1/3 cup)
  • 1/4 c
    vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    molasses
  • 1 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1 Tbsp
    prepared horseradish
  • 1 Tbsp
    worchestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper

How To Make barbecue sauce

    (1)In a medium saucepan cook onion and garlic in hot oil until onion is tender. (2)Stir in apple juice,tomato paste,vinegar,brown sugar,molasses,paprika,horseradish,Worcestershire sauce,salt,pepper. (3)Bring to a boil;reduce heat.Simmer,uncovered,about 30 minutes or until desired consistency,stirring occasionally.

    To use, brush chicken,pork,or beef with some of the sauce during the last 10 minutes of grilling. If desired,reheat and pass additional sauce. (cover and chill any leftovers for up to 3 days.)
