I call this an Asian steak sauce, because I believe that it works so well with beef, and gives the steak a hint of Asian flavor. I played about with the ingredients until I achieved a good balance between the sauce and the beef. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients For asian essentials: east meets west steak sauce
- PLAN/PURCHASE

1 Tbspgrapeseed oil, or other non-flavored oil

2 clovegarlic, minced

1/2 cdry sherry

1/2 cfiltered water
-
1/3 ctamari sauce, or liquid aminos

1/4 ccoconut sugar

2 Tbsptomato paste
-
2 tspginger powder
-
1 Tbspsweet butter, unsalted

1 tspsesame oil
How To Make asian essentials: east meets west steak sauce

1PREP/PREPARE

2Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

3Add the ginger powder, sherry, tamari sauce, tomato paste, coconut sugar, and water, to a bowl, and whisk together.

4Add the oil to a saucepan, over medium heat.

5Add the garlic, and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds.

6Add the liquid ingredient, and simmer for about 20 minutes.

7Take off heat and whisk in the butter, and sesame oil.

8PLATE/PRESENT

9Use the sauce on a nice grill steak or other beef. Enjoy.
