I am not sure where I found this recipe, I know that I did not make it up all on my own. It has changed the hearts of Teriyaki haters!

Ingredients For so good! teriyaki sauce

  • 2/3 c
    soy sauce
  • 1/4 c
    red wine
  • 1/4 c
    sugar (i use organic)
  • 1/3 c
    honey
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 tsp
    red chili pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    potato or corn starch (for slurry)

How To Make so good! teriyaki sauce

  • 1
    Place all the ingredients, minus the potato or corn starch, in a sauce pan
  • 2
    Heat ingredients up over medium-high heat til bubbly
  • 3
    Mix potato/corn starch to enough water to make a slurry (a slurry is egg white consistency)
  • 4
    Add slurry to bubbly mixture, heat and stir until the sauce thickens
  • 5
    Remove from heat and enjoy! Will save in the refrigerator for months if kept sealed
