This marinade is our family's favorite. We use it on chicken, steak and shrimp. We tried other marinades but always came back to this one and will stay with it.

How To Make easy and cheap steak marinade

Decide how many people you are feeding and buy at least one steak per person to cook. Place steak in a bowl (that has a lid) large enough to hold all the meat you plan to cook. Sprinkle meat well with Italian dressing on both sides. Then sprinkle on lemon pepper and a few sprinkles of Creole seasoning (not too much unless you like it hot!). I like to get a good thin layer of lemon pepper on the steaks. Cover and marinade steaks for 6 to 12 hours. I have marinaded 24 hours! Using a bowl with a lid allows you to turn the bowl over a few times while it is marinading to mix meat and marinade well. Place meat on hot preheated grill to cook until done.

NOTE: The Italian dressing and lemon pepper make the steaks tender and gives a good flavor. Do not add salt unless you want to add some at the table. If using marinade on chicken and shrimp, only marinade less than 4 hours or it will be too salty from Italian dressing and lemon pepper. Chicken and shrimp soak up more of the marinade than the steaks so go lighter especially on the creole. All our family and friends love our steaks. We do not eat steaks in restaurants anymore because ours are so much better, we think!
