Ingredients For bourbon onion jam

2 Tbspbutter

1 Tbspolive oil

2 cyellow onions, finely sliced (lyonnaise cut)

1 tspground himalayan pink salt, or to taste

1 tspfreshly ground black pepper, or to taste (I always use mixed peppercorns)

1 lgclove garlic, pressed

1/4 cbourbon
How To Make bourbon onion jam

1In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, melt butter and add oil.

2When it gets hot, add onion slices, salt, and pepper; sauté for 2 minutes. Cover, reduce heat to medium, and cook for 8 minutes, stirring frequently making sure the onion slices are well coated.

3Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

4Reduce to medium-low and continue cooking for another 10 minutes, uncovered, stirring often.

5Pour in bourbon, bring the heat to medium, and cook about 10 minutes or until the liquid is almost evaporated, stirring every 2 minutes.

6Taste and adjust seasoning; keep it warm until needed. Make 1/4 cup
