Ingredients For apple n pear butter

2 lbgranny smith apples, peeled, cored and quartered

2 lbpears, peeled, cored and quartered

1 capple juice
-
1 cwater
-
brown sugar as needed

2 tspcinnamon, freshly ground - i use a microplane for this

1 tspground cloves - i use a spice grinder

1/4 tspfreshly grated nutmeg - microplane works well

zest and juice of 2 lemons

1/2 capple cider vinegar
How To Make apple n pear butter

1Cook the apples and pears in juice and water until soft on medium heat. Let cool and blend in a food processor. Add back into pot using a measuring cup. For each cup of puree add 1/2 cup brown sugar.

2Add all spices, vinegar lemon juice and zest. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours until thickened.

3Ladle into sterilized jars and process in boiling water 10 minutes.
