2 lbjonathan or laura red apples, peeled, cored, quartered

1 1/2 capple cider

1/2 csugar

1/2 cbrown sugar, packed

2 tspground cinnamon

1/4 tspallspice

1 Tbsplemon juice
How To Make apple butter

1Place apples and cider in a large stock pot. Cover and bring to a boil over med-hi heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in sugars, spices and lemon juice. Simmer an hour, until very thick. For easy spreading, it should be of a very smooth consistency.

2If freezing, pour hot apple butter into freezer containers, leaving 1/2" headspace. Cover and freeze.
