Ingredients For quick tomato sauce

1 conions chopped

1/4 ccelery chopped

1 Tbspgarlic chopped

1 cdry red wine

1 cbeef or chicken stock

3 ccrushed tomatoes in puree

1 Tbspfresh basil chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

salt and pepper
How To Make quick tomato sauce

1Sauté onions, celery and garlic in oil, medium heat til soft

2Add red wine, cook til reduced to about 1/4 cup

3Add stock, tomatoes, bring to boil, reduce heat and add basil, salt and pepper to taste

4May add meatballs at this point and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove meat balls,skim any fat and bring to a boil, reduce and simmer to thicken more if desired
