Great recipe especially if you just want some mashed potatoes and gravy and don't want to get it from a jar or pkg.

Ingredients For homemade mushroom and wine brown gravy

  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 8 oz
    baby bella mushrooms
  • 3/4 c
    maderia wine
  • 3 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 c
    beef stock
  • 2 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    fresh thyme minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make homemade mushroom and wine brown gravy

  • 1
    Melt butter in saucepan. Add mushrooms and saute until golden. Stir in garlic and wine let reduce until most is evaporated. Stir the cornstarch into the beef broth. Add to the skillet and bring to a boil. Stir in the tomato paste. Heat through. Finish with the 1 tbsp of butter cook until melted. Stir in the thyme
