raisin sauce for ham and other meats
My 91 year old next door neighbor (at the house the tornado destroyed - Cullman, AL April 27th 2011)has cooked me many meals. She is a wonderful cook and so delightful. She doesn't look or act her age, in Church most every Sunday. She has a heart of gold, so does her son who lives with her. One of her MANY recipes is Raisin Sauce. She says she buys Honey Ham, takes it off the bone and stores it in the refrigerator. She then makes the Raisin Sauce and stores it in refrigerator also, in a closed container. On Sunday morning she heats up some ham slices and the sauce before Church. When they get home, they have the ham and sauce warm with a salad and maybe another vegetable and dessert. She is the mother to four very successful sons. Her deceased husband was our Post Master and Chairman of the School Board along with many other things. What a wonderful mother and wife. Next March she will be 92. Yesterday and today she has not felt real well. Such an awesome lady that I adore. I submit this recipe in her honor: Katherine Cobb.
