While the recipe does not state any meat or rice, I know mom served this sauce over whatever meat she chose, over a bed of rice. It was her "Chinese" style meal...she had a party and the guests sat on the floor to eat on low tables...and served this. Luckily, she shared the recipe with my stepmom, and I have it!

Ingredients For orange sauce, madeleine's

1/4 cbutter

1/4 cunsifted flour

1/2 tspseasoned salt

1/4 tsppepper

1/4 tspgarlic powder

3 ozcan whole mushrooms

10 1/2 ozcream of mushroom soup

1/2 ccanned chicken broth

1/2 corange juice concentrate, not diluted

1/4 tspnutmeg

2 Tbspbrown sugar
-
mandarin oranges, for garnish
- NOT ON RECIPE CARD:

cooked chicken or protein of your choice

cooked rice of your choice
How To Make orange sauce, madeleine's

1Melt butter, add flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Drain mushrooms and reserve liquid. Add soup, broth, orange juice, mushroom liquid, nutmeg and brown sugar.

2This would all melt together to form the orange sauce.

3Mom served this sauce over protein and rice. Garnish with mandarin oranges if desired.
