    apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    clove
  • 1/2 c
    raisins (or dried cranberries)
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 c
    whole milk

How To Make escalloped apples

    Place apples in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix together sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

    Stir spice mix into apples until evenly distributed. Fold in walnuts and raisins.

    Spoon mixture into a greased 2-qt. casserole. Mix vanilla and milk; pour evenly over apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes, or until soft and bubbly. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
