My fiance is getting his wisdom teeth pulled and we have left over apples from apple picking - it seemed like a good way to make something delicious and soothing while he is recovering...and a great way to finish up the apples!

Ingredients For applesauce

5apples (cortland or macintosh are best)

3/4 cwater

1/2 cbrown sugar

1 tspcinnamon
-
1/2 tsppumpkin pie spices

3 Tbspalmond meal

1 Tbspbrown sugar
How To Make applesauce

1Peel, core, and dice apples.

2Place water, apples, 1/4 cup of sugar and cinnamon in a medium pan. Stir and heat, covered, on medium heat.

3Cook apples until they are soft, about 15 minutes

4Remove from heat. Mash apples with a potato masher (or a big spoon). It will be a little runny.

5Add the almond meal and remaining brown sugar. Mix well. Allow to cool. I store mine in a jar.
