I got this recipe from a church project I had helped with 33 years ago. They were making coleslaw for their booth at the fair. I had to take my baby girl with me and hoped no one minded. Not only did the ladies help me with her all day, but I wasn't sure I was going to get her back!!

Ingredients For salad dressing

  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 tsp
    french mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    celery seed
  • 1/2 c
    vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 3 lb
    coleslaw mix (or shredded cabbage with carrots)

How To Make salad dressing

  • 1
    Mix first 8 ingredients together in saucepan. Cook on medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Let cool.

    Mix with 2 cups mayonaise and 3 pounds coleslaw mix.
