Well summer is just about gone we need to have one more cookout. Hamburgers, ribs, baked potatoes, grilled vegetables, and hot dogs with chili. Don't forget that southern sweet iced tea.

Ingredients For janet's picnic coleslaw

1 Tbspflour

1 Tbspsugar

1 tspsalt

1/2 tspcelery seed

dash of pepper

1/3 ccider vinegar
-
1/4 cwater
-
1 tspprepared mustard
-
1 Tbspgrated onion
-
3egg yolks, slightly beaten

1/4 cbutter
-
1 csour cream
-
2 qtshredded cabbage
-
1/2 cgrated carrot
How To Make janet's picnic coleslaw

1Combine flour, sugar, salt, celery seed, and pepper in a sauce pan. Stir in vinegar gradually.

2Add water, mustard, and onion cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens and loses starchy taste.

3Stir small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks,stir egg yolks into hot mixture.

4Cook stirring constantly for 1 minute longer. Add butter stir until melted.

5Chill thoroughly. Fold in sour cream. Combine cabbage and carrot.

6Pour on sour cream dressing toss lightly to blend. Yield 6-8 servings
