i like to make this for salads more then to just eat on a sandwich..however you can add a dash or more of steak sauce to make a great sandwich spread

Ingredients For homemade mayo

  • 1
    hard boiled egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice fresh or bottled
  • 1 tsp
    white vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    oil, vegetable, canola or sunflower

How To Make homemade mayo

  • 1
    after you boil the egg and let it cool and shell it, grate it up fine. Add lemon juice and mix til all pasty like. Add Vinegar and stir until the egg is no longer in solid form. Then mix in the rest and stir well. I usually end up putting some pepper in this and cutting back on the salt. Can add curry in too for extra boost
