I got this from my mother in law... I make it every time I have to bring a dish.. there is never any leftovers.. You can also serve it warm as a main dish

Ingredients For my favorite mexican dip

  • 1 can
    refried beans
  • 1 md
    green pepper
  • 1 md
    onion
  • 1 lb
    ground beef cooked and drained
  • 2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 lg
    jar of salsa your choice the chunkier the better

How To Make my favorite mexican dip

  • 1
    spread 1 can of refried beans on bottom of 9x13 pan
  • 2
    layer 1/2 cup (you can use more or less according to your liking) of cheese on beans
  • 3
    layer of green pepper and onion that have been lightly cooked until not quite translucent.
  • 4
    layer with ground beef- followed by salsa then a layer of cheese
  • 5
    repeat with pepper mixture and beef . place final amount of salsa on top.. Top with remaining cheese
  • 6
    bake in 350 oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted on top.. just melted not baked.
  • 7
    top with sour cream if desired and serve with chips
