My mom used to make this when I was growing up and it was one of the first things I learned to cook on my own. It's a family favorite around here and we serve it as a meal or as an appetizer!

Ingredients For momma's queso

  • 1 lb
    ground chuck, cooked
  • 1 lb
    sausage (optional chorizo)
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 oz
    picante sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 lg
    white onion
  • 1 pkg
    velveeta cheese cubed
  • 1/4 c
    milk

How To Make momma's queso

    Brown ground chuck and sausage.
  • 2
    mix ingredients in pot adding cheese slowly, and simmer stir frequently. use milk to thin. Cook over medium heat until cheese is melted.

    Serve over chips/burritos or anything you want!
