For years, I have not been able to find my favorite brand of clam dip, so I was compelled to concoct my own recipe. If you loved Breakstone's Clam Dip, you'll love this.

Ingredients For killer clam dip

  • 8 oz
    cream cheese (1 brick), room temperature
  • 3/4 c
    sour cream
  • 1 pkg
    dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 tsp
    pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1/2 c
    extra-sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 Tbsp
    real hickory smoked bacon bits
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh minced chives
  • 1 can
    chopped or minced clams (6.5 oz.), drained
  • fresh chives, parsley or sliced green onion for garnish (optional)

How To Make killer clam dip

  • 1
    Using an electric hand-mixer, beat cream cheese until fluffy.

    Add sour cream; mix thoroughly, until no lumps remain.

    Add ranch dressing mix, maple syrup, liquid smoke and pepper; mix well.

    Add cheddar cheese, bacon bits and minced chives; combine well.

    Add drained clams; mix until well combined. (NOTE: Save and freeze clam juice for chowder or other seafood dishes.)

    May serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until served. Garnish as desired. Cover and refrigerate leftovers.
