Ingredients For cheese dip with caramelized onions.

2 mdyellow cooking onions

2 cold cheddar cheese

2 tspvegetable or canola oil

2 Tbspall purpose flour

1/4 tspcayenne pepper

1 1/2 clager ale

1 Tbspdijon mustard

4 sliceside bacon cooked crisp and crumbled

4 Tbsppure maple syrup
-
4green onions finely sliced
-
1/2 cyellow cheese curds or cheese of your preferance and chopped
How To Make cheese dip with caramelized onions.

1Peel onions and cut into 1/4 inch slices. heat oil in heavy or iron skillet on medium heat, add onions, stir, cover cook for about 15 minutes stirring occasionally, onions should be browned and softened.

2In large bowl combine cheddar, flour and cayenne, add ale and mustard to onion mixture, stir cheese mixture to skillet and stir to combine,,add rest of cheese and curds and cook and stir until cheese has melted..remove from heat.

3Recipe can be made to this point and then placed on top shelf of heated barby, stirring occasionally for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese has melted. To serve sprinkle top of cheese mixture in skillet with bacon, green onions and maple syrup. Have crusty bread, blanched broccoli, sweet green peppers and any other vegie you have on hand. leftovers can be reheated and recipe can also be cut in half.
