1 tablespoon olive oil

1 red onion, julienned

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 cup mayonnaise

1 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili pepper flakes

1 teaspoon black pepper

kosher salt, to taste
How To Make caramelized french onion dip

1In sauté pan over medium high heat add oil and onions. Saute for 3 minutes and then reduce heat to low and add sugar. Cook onions on low for 20 minutes; remove and cool.

2In mixing bowl add mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, chili pepper flakes and black pepper. Stir in cooled caramelized onions and season with salt to taste.
