Circa 1974, our family original. Can be used as a dessert, but sounds "healthier" as a "Salad":)

Ingredients For strawberry pretzel salad

  • 2 1/2 c
    pretzels, coarsley chopped
  • 3/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    cool whip
  • 1 pkg
    strawberry jello, 6 oz.
  • 2 c
    boiling water
  • 2 pkg
    frozen strawberries,sliced, 10 oz. packages

How To Make strawberry pretzel salad

  • 1
    Crust: Combine pretzels, butter and 3 Tablespoons sugar. Press into 10 x 15 ungreased pan. Bake 375 degrees for 10 minutes. COOL

    Soften cream cheese and mix remaining sugar. Fold in cool whip. Spread over pretzel crust and chill.

    Dissolve jello in boiling water. Add frozen strawberries and stir until melted. Chill. When jello is almost set, pour over cream cheese layer and chill.
