This cool and creamy chicken salad recipe will be a big hit at your next picnic or cookout. We really enjoyed the flavor Miracle Whip brings to the salad. There's a slight tang from it. The chicken and pasta pair well with the delicious spices. Crunchy bits of celery throughout are yummy and add texture. Using a store-bought rotisserie chicken means this can be prepped in no time.

Ingredients For cold chicken salad

  • 3/4 bag
    elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 1 1/2 c
    chicken, cooked
  • 1 c
    Miracle Whip salad dressing
  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/4 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder or salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    Mrs. Dash all purpose seasoning

We cooked 4 cups of pasta.
  • Noodles rinsed with cold water.

    Boil noodles. Rinse with cool water.
  • Shredded chicken in one bowl; chopped onion and celery in another.

    Chop all ingredients and set aside. I have made this various ways when it comes to the chicken. You can boil a chicken breast, use a can of shredded chicken, chop 3 chicken tenders from the store or use rotisserie chicken. I usually use the rotisserie as then I get 2 dinners out of one chicken.
  • Mayonnaise, Miracle Whip, and spices mixed in a bowl.

    Mix together the mayonnaise, Miracle Whip, and spices.
  • Mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl.

    Add to a large bowl and toss with the pasta, chicken, onion, and celery. Chill for 1 hour.
  • A bowl of cold chicken salad.

    Serve with a roll for a great lunch or dinner.
