Ingredients For sweet and spicy lemon-basil broccoli salad

1 Tbspgarlic rice wine vinegar

1lemon, juiced reserved and zested

2 tspdijon mustard

JustaPinchground pepper

1/4 colive oil

1 lbbroccoli, rinsed, trimmed, and cut into bite sized pieces

3 mdtomatoes
-
3 ozcoarsely chopped pecans

1/4 cwhite sugar
-
1 Tbspwater
-
1 tspcayenne pepper
-
2 Tbspbasil leaves, chiffonade'd

1/2 cshredded cheese of choice
How To Make sweet and spicy lemon-basil broccoli salad

1In a skillet, combine 1 tbsp water, sugar, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil and toss nuts in.

2Once coated, place nuts on a baking sheet and bake in a 400 degree oven until caramelized (a few minutes).

3Whisk together the vinegar, zest, lemon juice, mustard, oil, and pepper in a medium mixing mixing bowl.

4Toss broccoli, tomatoes, and cheese together. Fold in dressing and nuts. Chill for a day for best flavor. 1/2 day (3-6hrs) for milder flavor and crunchier veggies.
