This slaw gets better with age! A very nice complement to brisket. Very tasty!

Ingredients For sweet and sour slaw

1 mdhead cabbage
-
1green pepper
-
1 cdiced celery
-
1 cshredded carrots
-
green onion to taste (if desired)
How To Make sweet and sour slaw

1Shred and dice the vegetables. Put in a colander with 2 teaspoons salt. Let drain about 1 1/2 hours. Put in a container that can be covered tightly.

2Dressing: Mix 1 c. water, 1 c. vinegar, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. mustard seed, and 1 tsp. celery seed. Bring to a boil. Pour over the cabbage mixture. Cover tightly and cool. Refrigerate. This keeps forever!!!
