a recipe I had on another cookbook website...I get tired of the same old coleslaw, so here is another option.

Ingredients For spicy slaw

  • 1 lb
    cabbage, cut into shreds
  • 1/4
    red onion, cut into long slivers
  • 1/2
    red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped cilantro
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2 Tbsp
    champagne vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp
    lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    red chile flakes
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt

How To Make spicy slaw

  • 1
    At home: toss vegetables in a large bowl to blend. Transfer to a ziplock bag. Put remaining ingredients in small container with tight fitting lid. Chill slaw and dressing up to 2 days.

    At Camp: toss slaw and dressing in large bowl and serve.
