My Mom, Aunt Mary and Grandma all made sauerkraut. I never had store bought till I got married and moved away from Pa. No, store bought is as good as theirs was. But I love sauerkraut and the refrigerated kind tastes the best to me. I am glad my family likes it too. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do.

Ingredients For sauerkraut salad

  • 1 pkg
    sauerkraut,drained
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    vinegar
  • 1
    green bell peppers,chopped
  • 1 c
    celery,sliced
  • 1 jar
    small jar pimentos,drained

How To Make sauerkraut salad

  • 1
    boil sugar and vinegar till sugar is dissolved.

    Put all other ingredients in a bowl.
  • 3
    Pour liquid over all ingredients, cover and refrigerate overnight.
