Ingredients For salad-e shirazi

  • 3 lg
    firm tomatoes
  • 2
    english or persian cucumbers
  • 1 md
    vidalia or red onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon or lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh mint
  • 1 tsp
    fresh garlic, minced
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

How To Make salad-e shirazi

    Dice all vegetable into a small dice. Place into a bowl and add lemon or lime juice, olive oil, fresh herbs and salt and pepper. Toss gently and serve.

    This is a staple in Persian household. I have a friend that hates cucumbers that will eat Sharzi. I sometimes leave the olive oil out and just use the freshly squeezed juice to dress the vegetable.
