This is from one of my favorite regional cookbooks, What Can I Bring, by the Junior League of Northern Virginia. A different side dish salad that's easy to prepare.

Ingredients For reston veggie salad

1 csugar

1/2 cvegetable oil
-
3/4 cwhite vinegar

1. 17oz canpetit peas
-
1. 16oz canfrench style green beans

1. 16oz canshoe peg corn

1. Small jarpimientos, chopped
-
1 ccelery, chopped
-
1 ccarrots, finely chopped

1 cgreen pepper, chopped

1 conion, chopped
How To Make reston veggie salad

1Boil first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan until sugar dissolves

2Drain canned vegetables.

3Combine peas and next 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Pour dressing over salad and chill overnight. Stir before serving.
