I got this recipe from a local grocer's deli as I loved theirs so much and asked how it was made. It is great served with sandwiches or a side with dinner. A family favorite! ENJOY!

Ingredients For old fashioned pea salad

210 oz. packages of frozen peas, thawed

8 ozsliced water chestnuts, drained

1 ccheese, cubed - i.e., velveeta or american

1/2 cgreen onions, chopped

1/4 cmayonnaise (do not substitute)

1/4 csour cream
How To Make old fashioned pea salad

1Blend together peas, water chestnuts, green onions, and cheese. In a separate bowl, blend mayonnaise and sour cream; spoon over pea mixture and gently stir to coat. You can also add celery (1 cup) and salt and pepper to taste. It should be refrigerated for a few hours before serving.
