When visiting my grandmother who lived near the North Sea in Germany, I remember having lots of "Krabben" - small local shrimp in a variety of dishes. Here's an example of a local shrimp salad.

Ingredients For north sea shrimp salad (büsumer krabbensalat)

  • 10 oz
    small shrimp, cooked, peeled, deveined
  • 1 sm
    red onion, minced
  • 6-8
    radishes, finely chopped
  • 1/4
    english cucumber, finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    freshly chopped dill (or 1 tb dried)
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lg
    lemon, juice of
  • sea salt and pepper, to taste
  • lemon wedges, to serve

How To Make north sea shrimp salad (büsumer krabbensalat)

    In a medium bowl, toss together the shrimp, onion, radishes, cucumber and dill.

    Then add the olive oil and lemon juice, season with salt and pepper, and toss again.
